God forbid that in the season of roses I should abandon wine I boast of wisdom — when would I ever do such a thing?

The clamor of the seminary has troubled my heart For a while I shall also attend to the beloved and to wine

Since they kneaded my clay with wine from eternity Tell the claimant why I would abandon it

حاشا که من به موسم گل ترک می کنم من لاف عقل می زنم اين کار کی کنم

از قال و قيل مدرسه حالی دلم گرفت يک چند نيز خدمت معشوق و می کنم

خاک مرا چو در ازل از می سرشته اند با مدعی بگو که چرا ترک می کنم
