The morning breeze in Persian lyric carries messages between lovers; to dance with it is to celebrate the message that has finally arrived.

'Not one day did this revolving sky accompany us' — the revolving sky (gardoon) is Persian lyric's standard figure for fate, the cosmic machinery that governs fortune. The complaint that it never accompanied (yari nakard) the couple is an accusation: the speaker has been waiting for the sky's cooperation, and it refused every day until now. The fortune of reunion is unexpected precisely because the machinery of fate has not been favorable.

'It seems my heart and I are the guest of God tonight' — the heart and the speaker distinguished as two entities, both arriving as guests at a feast that has the quality of divine hospitality. 'The sun has again become a guest in our humble home / In our gathering the moonlight has spread its radiance' — the sun and moonlight arriving at the gathering are the beloved's presence translated into the cosmic: her return makes the sky itself a guest at the celebration.
