The song belongs to a small category in Zahir's catalog of explicitly political and patriotic recordings, distinct from his personal love poetry.

The language of the song is celebratory and optimistic: the morning of the republic (sahar-e jumhuriyat), the shattering of the glass of oppression (jaam-e zulm), the tearing of the curtain of sorrows — all are images of sudden political liberation. Young people (jawanan) are called to clap and sing, which locates the song's primary audience: the educated urban youth of Kabul who welcomed the republic's early promises of modernization.
