The 'embrace of intoxication' (aghosh-e masti) as the shelter being requested is characteristic of the mystical register: intoxication in Sufi poetry is the state of being absorbed in love's presence, and to seek shelter in that embrace is to ask for the total absorption that dissolves the separation between the seeker and the sought.
