Eshqu Mehrat — Your Love and Affection — is a compact song, its three couplets each capturing a different aspect of a binding love. 'Threads are bound at my feet' — the Persian phrase (risha be paham basta ast) describes a literal snare, something that prevents movement. Love here is not freeing but entangling, and the speaker does not resist the snare.

'I cannot take your name to my lips / The wave of pearls — the height of my longing' — the inability to speak the beloved's name is an extreme form of reverence or speechlessness. The 'wave of pearls' is an image for the teeth (white and ordered), suggesting that what emerges when the name almost comes to the lips is not language but pearls — something beautiful but not speech.

'I burned again — burn me again' — the request for repeated burning is familiar from other songs in Zahir's catalog. Here it is compressed to a single line, stripped of context. The burning is enough on its own: the speaker has been in fire before and wants to be again. 'You are my sea' — the final image returns the beloved to the oceanic, a sea that the speaker's two warm eyes look out at. The sea burns too, in this geography.
