بگو که گل نفرستاد
Bego Ke Gul Naferestad
“Say That the Flower Has Not Sent”
Lyrics
Lyrics updated · July 2026English Translation
Tell them not to send flowers to my house For the fragrance of your memory has already filled my nest
Like dew that drips from white buds See with your own eyes my tears falling one by one
If from anyone's wings the desire to live could rise Come and for a moment spread your wings in my nest

بگو که گل نفرستد کسی به خانه ی من که که عطر یاد تـو پر کرده آشــيانه ی مــن

Tell them not to send flowers to my house — the fragrance of your memory has already filled my nest. Tears like dew dripping from white buds; if the desire to live could rise from any wings, come spread them here.
About This Recording
'Tell them not to send flowers to my house / For the fragrance of your memory has already filled my nest' — the refusal of flowers is an act of preservation. Flowers would displace or dilute the fragrance that is already there: the beloved's memory. The nest (ashiyana) filled with this invisible fragrance is a precise image for a space made full by something intangible.
'Like dew that drips from white buds / See with your own eyes my tears falling one by one' — the visual rhyme between dew on white flowers and tears on a face is one of the gentler similes in this catalog. The poem does not claim the tears are like dew but asks the listener to see both and draw the comparison themselves: 'see with your own eyes.'
'If from anyone's wings the desire to live could rise / Come and for a moment spread your wings in my nest' — the closing invitation is conditional and generous simultaneously. The speaker is not demanding; they are offering shelter to anyone in whom living still has the desire to rise. The nest, already full of memory's fragrance, is opened as a refuge. Ahmad Zahir's catalog includes this kind of gentleness alongside its grief.
